RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR IN BROOKLYN
The Renegade Craft Fair (RCF) is a large-scale and free-to-attend marketplace event! Featuring hundreds of artists at a time, vendors travel from all over to sell and showcase their handmade goods and original artwork. RCF is held yearly in urban epicenters of creative indie-entrepreneurship –
I met great people during that fair, including Jay Mc Carrol, the girls from Scarlett Garnet and from CONCRETE POLISH
Robert Ebendorf at Gallery Loupe
Robert Ebendorf was recycling the ordinary things that society discards long before “re-purposing” became a fashionable buzzword. His jewelry charms and delights the eye and the mind without the need for the use of precious materials. Although one is tempted to delve more deeply into the meaning of his jewelry, the pieces are often just as they appear…created for the sheer enjoyment of the design and creative use of materials. The pieces can be appreciated simply for their exuberance, humor and lack of pretence.
An internationally renowned metalsmith and jeweler, Bob Ebendorf is currently the Belk Distinguished Professor of Art at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. A founding member of SNAG, the Society of North American Goldsmiths, he became one of its first presidents and is considered an outstanding figure in American craft today.
