MICHAEL ZOBEL

ABOUT:

For many years, Zobel is a byword for highly individual, strong and exclusive jewellery of timeless beauty - a result of over 37 years of jewellery design by Michael Zobel and his team that since 2005 is continued by his successor Peter Schmid.
The aim is what too many has been denied: the continuation of a tradition of jewellery making, that is aware of its roots in the crafts, yet does not restrict itself and courageously and curiously looks forward to new tasks is design.
In the creations of the studio Zobel, convention and innovation are therefore often paired. They strive to cultivate curiosity, give pleasure and mediate a positive approach to life.

How is it done? Which goldsmith did not ask this question about the technique, when they visited the fairs in the 90’s of the last century in which Michael Zobel took part?
He was a pioneer and guide for many generations of goldsmiths, who were fascinated and stimulated by his techniques and his generous handling of materials.
The combination of different metals with and on top of each other, the free use of colours and forms, of geometry and organic sources, of precious stones has determined the work of his studio from the beginning.
Thus, the strengths of the enterprise will also be brought to bear in the future - breathtaking gold and platinum combinations, rather discreet silver and platinum combinations and the classic, the symbiosis of silver and refined gold in correspondence with selected gems; the continued search for innovation and the satisfaction of the customers will determine the future work of the studio Zobel under the new management.

Since the year 1988, the very beautiful shop and exhibition room can be found in the Rosgartenstrasse, right in the heart of the old part of Constance, in the historic “Haus zum Wolf”. Here the attractive facade of the only Rococo townhouse in Constance sets the historic and contrasting framework for Michael Zobel’s magical world of jewellery.
