While visiting Canvas Malibu, I started walking around the store appreciating the well curated pieces. I couldn’t take my eyes away from this beautifully made pair of booties. I made the wise decision of trying them.. and they were the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever tried.
If you follow me on instagram, you’d learn how much I love this shoes. Designer Paul S. Kaufman was so nice and started a conversation with me. I love his company statement and what he is all about. I have to post his work!.. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and appreciate quality and great craftsmanship!
A little about Paul (in his own words):
Part of my mission is to raise awareness of what an artisanal process it is in making shoes. i’m still passionate about after all these years!!
I asked him what draw him to fashion:
I’m pretty sure what drew me to ‘fashion’ is a persistent anti-fashion streak I have. i cut my musical teeth on punk rock and did and still do love the d.i.y. aspect of it and the obnoxious, in-yer-face element it has. I love anything that causes people to think and re-think (essentially, education!). therefore, the new, the different, that which pushes boundaries, is all good by me! too much closed-mindlessness causes too many problems in this world! it’s all about dragging people, kicking and screaming, sometimes, toward more open-mindedness and hence, more understanding and tolerance, as artificial barriers are broken down!! :)
