Constantinos Kyriacou
about:
Born in Cyprus in 1972. He studied jewellery design, making and stone setting between 1992 and 1994 at Le Arti Orafe Jewellery school in Florence. In 2006 he attended a granulation course with Giovanni Corvaja at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery school in Florence. During the period 2006-2007 he was guided into the world of sculpture at Philippos Yiapanis Art Studio in Cyprus.
His work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus, Switzerland, Greece, France, Holland, Germany, USA , Italy and UK. He has received a number of notable commissions for sculpture, jewellery and installations in Cyprus, France, Greece and Dubai.
Constantinos Kyriacou considers his work, a continuous inner research. He moves between extreme states of soul, eliminating everything in-between, concentrating on the limits. He tries to keep a balance and moves on a fine line when expressing himself through his work.
He is not concerned with whether or not, the viewer fully understands the whole meaning of each piece. He considers important, though, to pass a “smell” to the viewer, of the state of mind at the moment a piece is born.
